New Restaurants Opening in 2016

Now that it’s the new year it’s time to check out the new places to wine and dine. Two honourable mentions are the Craft Beer Market which will be opening it’s second Calgary location at Southcentre Mall. The second restaurant to watch out for is located in the Mission area. It's a new Japanese restaurant called Shokunin which will be featuring yakitori and small plates. The real stand out feature of this restaurant is that there will be a late-night ramen take-out window! Cabinets of Curiosity Exhibit

The Glenbow museum is featuring Lyndal Osborne’s exhibit inspired by 17th century “wunderkammer” or “wonder rooms”. It is an interactive collection of items that Osborne has picked up along her journey, some natural wonders of the world, and real and imagined curiosities. Osborne is an urban archeologist that presents discarded items in this elaborate exhibit. Expect to see the unexpected; emu eggs, ant nets, porcupine pelts and a plastic platypus! Canadian Women’s Army Corps in WWII Exhibit

Learn more about Canadian women’s roles in the second world war at the Lougheed House’s exhibit on the history of the Canadian Women’s Army Corps (CWAC). The exhibit includes photos, artifacts, as well as an audio tour section with narrated stories from the ladies working as drivers, cooks, clerks and switchboard operators. The Motorcycle Show

Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts to the BMO Centre from Jan 8th to Jan 1th. The three day event showcases new 216 motorcycle and ATV makes and models.
