Events Around Town: July 2016

Shows & Concerts

The major three concerts taking place at Stampede park are the Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Jeff Dunham. Another great location to catch a concert is the Coke Stage, which is free with your Park admission and is where the big names play before they become huge. The Calgary Stampede Rodeo, GMC Rangeland Derby (Chuckwagon races) and TransAlta Grandstand Show is where the true heart of Stampede beats. This is where you’ll see the cowboys and cowgirls get their game on, and have a lot of fun doing it! All three events take place daily, and tickets can be bought at Ticket Master or last minute tickets can be bought onsite.

Western Oasis

We had to tell you about this secret gem on the Stampede grounds. Not only does it celebrate Western Arts and Culture, but it is truly the calmest place in Calgary during these 10 days. The Wine Oasis included gardens and water features, and is open from 11 AM – 11 PM. You can enjoy local music, arts and crafts while enjoying wine and cheese sitting around a wine barrel. Yes you read that right, the one wine garden among the hundreds of beer gardens! Enjoy!
