Calgary Highland Games

Scottish or not, you must come out to Sprinbank Park for All Seasons for highland dancing, piping and even heavy lifting. This annual event is one of the oldest gatherings in North America at 102 years since it’s start. There will be competitors from across Western Canada and the USA all in tartan! The games commence at 9:00am on September 3, 2016. You can purchase your tickets here.


UpDog Challenge

An Updog event is a way for owners to bond with their pets and spectators to enjoy the athleticism of the pooches. It’s a three day competition full of games such as Time Warp, 4WayPlay, Freesstyle, FunKey, 7UP and the 3 Day Marathon. All the action happens at South Glenmore Polocrosse Field from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Find out how to participate or spectate here.


Feel Foreign Film Contest Awards

Connecting Canadians from different cultures by telling stories through five-minute films that fit into six themes. One of the themes is sure to draw your attention; business, education, sport, family, lifestyle and food. The event happens on September 15 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm. Film submissions are screened and the top three winners of the contest are revealed. Find out how to attend the festivities here.
